I’ve always been fascinated by the world’s beauty, particularly the patterns concealed in ordinary life. Photography started as an attempt to capture these transient moments of recognition. Throughout my career in science and mathematics, my camera never left my side. That knowledge of science allows me to see both the visible beauty of nature and the intricacy behind it, and my art seeks to reconcile the two realms.
Discovery motivates me, whether in a lab or behind a camera. Noticing something never before seen gives me a extreme thrill, and I hope to share that wonder with others. When an image emerges, it serves as a time capsule, transporting me back to that moment of revelation and inviting those that view the photograph to share the experience with me.
